If you know about Midwest drag racing, you also know it was the happy hunting ground for Gasser action in the 1960. The heartland also had its helping of drag Altereds, though rarely as wild as this. In response to Mr. Strohl’s discovery of the Pro Mod body buck, we offer this, from the collection of Henderson, Nevada, resident Ed Rachanski, who raced the Marauder series of A/FX Comets out of Chicago during the same era.

This blower-bedecked nutcase is the BB/A Crosley known as the Blue Goose, raced by Peterson, Bowman and Steele of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It’s insane. The car was photographed by Barbara Riley at Milan Dragway in Michigan circa 1966. The classification indicated its blown big-block Chevy was fueled by methanol.
